SCPA AGM & Melee

There was a reasonable turn-out from Cobbetts’ members for the SCPA AGM at Burridge on Sunday, December 8^th. With Dave, Mari & Hassi on the committee table, Paul, Ali, Steve Love, Sue and Rod as attendees and Lyn and Mike working hard in the kitchen to provide after meeting soup and cakes.

Steve Lombard was elected President to take over from Glenn Floyd while Paul takes over from Mari as Membership Secretary. We wish them both well in their new positions.

Rather disappointingly only 4 people from Cobbetts stayed for the Melee, Lyn, Mike and Dave played while Ali sorted out the draw for each round and added up the final scores. Apart from a heavy but fortunately brief shower at the start of the second round the competition was played in sunshine. There were 4 rounds each of 30 minutes for the 18 players. Dave won all four of his games to take the top prize. Mike won three games but his points difference was not quite good enough to get him into the top 4 and he finished 6th.
