A change of timing this year with people meeting at Burridge from 1pm for drinks and mince pies (kindly supplied by Chris). The melee eventually got under way around 2:15pm after we had waited in the hope the rain would ease off and some stragglers would turn up!
A disappointing total of 14 players took part in the competition, well down on last year’s 23! There were four 35 minute rounds and after three rounds only two players, Dave and Ali, had won all their games. Ali was slightly ahead at this stage but a resounding 13-1 win in her last game ensured she won the Christams Cup by a big margin. Dave also won 4, scoring 5 in the last end of the last game to gain a narrow 13-11 victory! In contrast to last year when 8 players ended up with 3 wins, this year it was just Paula!
After another drink and some nibbles we all made the short ,journey down the road to the Elm Tree for dinner at 6:30pm.
