Cobbetts was a founder member of both the SCPA 9-a-side and 6-a-side leagues.
The 9-a-side League started pre-1980. Cobbetts entered one team every season until 2010 when it was decided to form a second team ‘The Extras’.
The 6-a-side League was set-up by a former Cobbetts member, Paddy Searle, in 1985. Again Cobbetts started with one team and later added the ‘B’ team. A third team ‘The Seasiders’ was formed in 2011.
